WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP ME?
********************************************************
WHAT
HAPPENED TO ME, CAN HAPPEN TO ANYBODY AT UBC RIGHT NOW, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A
MEMBER OF A MINORITY GROUP/INTERNATIONAL STUDENT/OUT OF PROVINCE STUDENT
To be able to provide me effective
support/help please get informed about my academic ordeal at UBC by reading a
short summary of what has happened to me at UBC 1993-2006 while under the care
of the past UBC President, Dr. Martha Piper, academic ordeal that it is still
going on right now.
You can help me in several ways to put pressure
on Prof. Toope and other UBC officials:
a) you can write to the the new UBC
President, Prof. Stephen J. Toope, to the e-mail address below.
Please express to him strongly your
concern about the failure of Dr. Martha Piper to protect me while under her
tenure, 1998-2006; and about the need in the name of student justice to resolve
my situation in ASAP.
Remind Prof. Toope that part of the mandate of a UBC President
is to protect students from institutional/ academic abuse, yet Dr. Piper
fulling knowing my situation in detail failed to act in accordance to that
mandate to the point that she always avoided to contact me personally even
after having indicated in writing to my then legal advisor, Mr. Desmond
Rodenbour, that she was going to do so.
Please ask Prof. Toope to act now that he
is the new UBC President to restore my up to this moment violated student and
individual rights and stop this ongoing abuse. Ask him to protect me and encourage
him to ensure that UBC finally respects its own rules; to discipline the
individuals and faculties involved; and to take steps to quickly grant the
Ph.D. degree the UBC Senate failed to grant in 1998.

The Alma Mater Society of UBC is there to protect the
rights of all UBC Students, especially those whose
rights it knows have been violated by UBC as
in my case, let's pray that in the coming
days it offers the services of the
Student Legal Fund as it
should to ensure UBC
grants me my PhD
degree as required
by academic appeal laws at UBC.
